What is Preplet?

Preplet is an AI-powered study app that helps students learn faster by turning their own notes, textbooks, and class materials into flashcards, practice quizzes, and study guides. It is built to be a safe, focused study tool — not a social media app, not a chatbot for idle conversation, and not a place to meet strangers.

Children under 13 study on their own in Kid Mode. Group study with classmates (our CoWork Sessions feature) is turned off for children under 13 unless a parent purchases a paid plan and gives consent.

How Kid Mode works

When a child under 13 signs up, they enter Kid Mode automatically. Kid Mode is a separate experience designed with kids in mind and with COPPA (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) compliance at its core.

In Kid Mode:

  • We collect only your (the parent's) email address and your child's birth month and year — nothing else. No name, no phone number, no home address, no location, and no advertising or behavioral tracking.
  • Your child can build study guides, flashcards, and quizzes from their own notes, photos, and audio.
  • To build study materials, what your child submits is processed by Google AI only to create the study guide; Google does not keep it or use it to train AI. Preplet keeps an encrypted backup of your child's study materials so they can be recovered if the device is lost, and deletes it if you delete the account.
  • Group study (CoWork) is locked for children under 13, and can be unlocked only if a parent purchases a paid plan and gives consent.

How we keep your child safe

Group features are off by default CoWork group study is locked for children under 13. It stays off unless a parent purchases a paid plan and gives consent. Kids cannot be searched for or messaged by strangers.
Minimal data collection For children under 13 we collect only the parent's email and the child's birth month and year. No name, no phone number, no home address, no social media links, and no behavioral or advertising tracking.
No public profiles or messaging Kids cannot be searched for or messaged by strangers. They can only interact with people you have approved.
Study content is deleted after use Notes, photos, and audio your child submits are used only to build the study guide, then deleted by the AI provider (Google) and never used to train AI. Preplet keeps an encrypted backup of your child's study materials so they can be recovered if the device is lost; it is deleted if you delete the account.
Content moderation AI-generated content is filtered. Any user-submitted reports are reviewed, and repeat offenders are removed from the platform.
Easy revocation, any time You can revoke any approval — or every approval — in one email. Instructions are below.

How to revoke approvals

You are always in control. To manage or remove approvals at any time:

  • Revoke a specific approval: Reply to the approval email with the subject revoke.
  • Revoke all approvals at once: Email parent@preplet.ai with the subject revoke all.
  • Delete the account entirely: Email parent@preplet.ai with the subject delete account and we will remove your child's account and associated data.

All requests must be sent from the parent email address on file so we can verify it's you.

Your rights under COPPA

Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected from your child.
  • Request that we delete your child's information.
  • Refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information.
